Our Project Planning service is ideal for those seeking a one-time financial plan without an ongoing relationship with a financial advisor. We meet several times to review your finances, look at your progress toward your goals, and recommend any adjustments we think would be beneficial. We’ll then part ways after the project engagement is complete.
Whether you just want a second look or things are a bit more complex, we’ll tailor the plan to fit your situation. Below are some of the ways we help our project planning clients.
-
Establish goals for savings
and monitor cash flow -
Review employer benefits to help
you capitalize on opportunities -
Outline retirement savings plan, college
fund, and other long-term goals -
Review life and disability insurance
to ensure adequate coverage -
Assist with tax
planning strategies
Our Project Planning Process

- Step 2Proposal & Engagement
- Step 3Information Gathering
- Step 4Plan Development
- Step 5Final Steps
Step 1 –
Introductory Meeting
We’ll start with a brief meeting to get to know each other, have a high-level look at your finances, and determine if we are a good fit to work together.
Step 2 –
Proposal & Engagement
From there, you’ll receive a proposal from us with a quote for the fixed planning fee (based on complexity), and an overview of our next steps. If you decide to move forward, we’ll send you a client agreement to e-sign as well as an invoice for first payment.
Step 3 –
Information Gathering
We’ll request several documents to get a clear picture of your current financial situation. You’ll receive an invitation to our online client portal where you can securely upload everything.
Step 4 –
Plan Development
We’ll meet several times over the following 2–3 months to build your financial plan. You’ll have opportunities to ask questions, make adjustments, and fine-tune until you’re comfortable with your plan.
Step 5 –
Final Steps
Upon completion and delivery of your financial plan, the project planning engagement will conclude, and the remaining fee balance will be due at that time.
Our Project Planning Fee
Our Project Planning fee is a flat rate, determined by the complexity of your financial plan.
- The Project Planning fees typically range from $1,000 for young professionals just starting out, to $5,000+ for clients with more complex financial situations. Most clients fall within the $2,500–$4,000 range. Half of the fee is due at the start of the project, and the remainder upon plan completion.
